WORLD WAR ONE CENTENARY COMMEMORATION
The Heritage Group will be commemorating the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the Great War (1914-18) on November 7, 8 and 9.
We aim to re-create the VAD Hospital in the Village Hall, as it appears in the photos we hold. So, we're looking for the loan of a bed, blankets and enamel utensil bowls of this era. A period chair or side table would come in very handy too.

We'd also like to contact anyone who has a relative's name on the war memorials in Ash or Westmarsh.
If you have any memorabilia from this time - or photos or information about those who went to fight - we'd love to hear from you. We plan to mount an exhibition and would be very grateful to borrow any interesting items.
On the evening of Saturday, November 7, we'll present an evening of readings, poems, songs - and dramatic scenes - based on the parish magazines of 1914-18.
If you'd like to take part, as an actor, reader, or singer to help lead the audience, please contact Ann Foat. You can phone on 01304 812121, e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org, or see her at the Heritage Centre between 10am and 12 noon on Monday or Saturday mornings.
